A brief study of a double-minded city commissioner Scherwin Henry

James 1:5
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and
it shall be given him.

James 1:6
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with
the wind and tossed.

James 1:7
For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

James 1:8
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

These scriptures speak for themselves and show us that those which waver back and forth do not please Jesus Christ and additionally are individuals who should not expect to receive anything from The Lord due to their inconsistency.

If you asked Scherwin Henry if he is a believer and servant of Jesus Christ, he would no doubt advise you that he most certainly is - however the reality of the situation is that Scherwin Henry's inconsistency in consistently standing for righteousness(Psalms 94:16) by voting against unholy city ordinances and initiatives involving homosexuality, bisexuality and transgendered proponents leaves him as a model of James 1:8.

Obeying the scriptures and obeying them consistenly, is a mark of faithfulness -
1Corinthians 4:1
¶ Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

1Corinthians 4:2
Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

We discussed in an earlier post how the scriptures instruct that those which rule over men should be just - ruling in the fear of God -

2Samuel 23:2
The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.

2Samuel 23:3
The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.

This man's voting record, when studied, easily solidifies how his rights as any sort of minister for Jesus Christ were revoked at an earlier commission meeting back on the 21st day of the Tenth Hebrew Month in 5768, which is what others would call Jan 28, 2008

We need to call all of our city officials to respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and even those who profess that they know him to demonstrate in works that they know Jesus - not just in words....
