Preachers! Don't be like T.D.Jakes and Marvin Winans at Whitney Houston's funeral - actually carry out 2 Timothy 4:1-4 to the fullest!

Take a careful look at the videos below;

Now we don't know what the reason is. We have no idea what that unknown reason is why these preachers decided to muzzle themselves from declaring the unadulterated truth to sinners - perhaps millions which were tuned in through a variety of means to this funeral and also why there was an epic failure to make the altar open and available to any that would choose to repent. We know that that is something that Jesus is truly concerned with based on what he said himself in Luke chapter 15.

Luke 15:7
I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

Lu 15:10
Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

Interesting how Jesus repeated the thought to make sure that those who were listening - didn't miss it's importance. Since we're discussing preachers, it is interesting to note how Paul wrote to Timothy, this young pastor and elder stationed in the city of Ephesus and declared to him how The Lord is concerned about repentance of sinners as well.

1Timothy 2:4
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Again, we don't know the reason. We have no idea whether these prominent preachers for the lure of financial gain decided not to carry out fully 2 Timothy 4:1-4. Whether for fear of reprisals from prestigious men and women, the elite of society, the desire to be politically correct....we don't know the reason. Ultimately however, it doesn't matter. No reason - ever - is a suitable reason to not fully and completely carry out the tenets of 2 Timothy 4:1-4 - ever.

Don't get caught up in reasoning how the normal pomp and circumstance of a funeral, especially those in black culture - trumps 2 Timothy 4:1-4. Consider what Jesus himself said in Luke 9:59-60;

Luke 9:59
And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

Luke 9:60
Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

Jesus was not being insensitive or stating that grieving over loss does not have it's place. He was simply stating the truth that the declaring of the truth concerning The Kingdom of God takes precedence over emotional feelings. No contradictions exist in The Word of God, however - when you consider Jesus' comments here in light of 2 Timothy 4:2 - in season and out of season....you see all the more that T.D. Jakes and Marvin Winans reasons for not considering the millions of sinners that were robbed of an opportunity to hear the unadulterated Word that could save them - those reasons just don't stand up to 2 Timothy 4:1-4.

2Timothy 4:1
I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

2Timothy 4:2
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

2Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

2Timothy 4:4
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
